Jul. 19--Downtown Madison's renaissance -- including the acclaimed Overture Center -- all stems from Monona Terrace, according to a study released Tuesday. Nine years to the day after the city's Frank Lloyd Wright- influenced convention center opened, Monona Terrace boosters released a study that shows the center generated $32.9 million in spending in 2005, from conference and convention attendees who stayed at local hotels and motels, ate at local restaurants and shopped at local stores.
