Jul. 20--Evoking the old adage, "Figures lie and liars figure," John DeStefano Jr. yesterday questioned the claim of his Democratic gubernatorial opponent, Mayor Dannel Malloy, that Malloy created 5,000 jobs in Stamford.
It is the latest dust-up between the New Haven mayor and Malloy as they vie for media attention and an advantage 20 days ahead of their party primary. The winner will face Republican Gov. M. Jodi Rell in November.
DeStefano said he debunk's Malloy's claim using the same source Malloy used.
