THE 34th North Wales International Music Festival - commencing September 16 in St Asaph Cathedral - promises to be the best yet, which is saying something.
As you might expect, the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth will not go unrecognised, ditto the centenary of Shostakovich's (both composers featuring prominently in the current BBC Proms, not to mention Lucerne and Salzburg).
Much less well known is the music of our own Grace Williams also born in 1906, and hopefully after St Asaph this glaring injustice will have been partly remedied. She was the most exquisite orchestrator, painting Celtic sound pictures of the ...
