If a picture is worth a thousand words, Penny Helzer has a lot to say.
Helzer, the Port Byron village historian, has published a 48-page,soft-cover book of historical photographs of the village entitled "Reflections of Port Byron, New York, Through Pictures."
Helzer began collecting the photographs five years ago when she became village historian. Local artist Dawn Jordan helped her put the book together, Helzer said.
Helzer, originally from southern Cayuga County, moved to Port Byron after years of traveling as a military wife. She became interested in village history and became involved in ...
