Jul. 21--Firefighters believe faulty wiring started a fire this morning in a home at 363 Rockport Road. The resulting blaze gutted a utility/storage room. Firefighters were called to the scene about 6 a.m. Upon arrival, they found brownish smoke billowing from the eaves of the single-story, single-family rental home owned by Eutella Funk and managed by her daughter, Diane Wiley. Tenant Frank Cummings was not home at the time. Neighbors told Janesville Fire Department Shift Commander Tim Ehlers they had seen him leave for work.
