Two assistant professors from East Carolina University have been getting a good deal of publicity regarding a study they conducted that, they say, proves "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart,'' Comedy Central's four-times-a-week satire of a news show, is making young people cynical about politics and politicians.
The professors, Jody Baumgartner and Jonathan Morris, published "The Daily Show Effect,'' a paper on their findings, in the academic journal American Politics Research.
