Jul. 23--The Mets pushed Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez back a day because they didn't want him to endure any more rain delays. It rained anyway.
Hours before yesterday's 4-3 victory over the Astros, Hernandez nevertheless appeared relaxed in the clubhouse, munching on bagels and cream cheese and watching Tiger Woods in the British Open. When Hernandez finally took the mound at Shea Stadium yesterday after a 57-minute rain delay -- the second in as many days -- it appeared that the wait had hurt him.
