Jul. 6--I am writing regarding the articles that have been written about the remains of Matthew Smith.
I am a very close friend of the family, and I find it very disturbing that these articles written about Matthew have gone into detail about his past criminal activity. There is no reason for this to be gone into in detail every time this story is in the paper.
The family is having a hard enough time dealing with the fact that they will never be able to see him again. His grandmother especially cannot take much more heartbreak over the situation. They know that he was in trouble and, believe me, they never wanted anything like this to happen to him. But, ...
