Introduction
[1] The late orthodox Israeli poet Zelda Schneersohn-Mishkovsky (1914-1984), better known as Zelda, was a descendent of a lineage of illustrious rabbis. (1) Her father, Shelomoh Shalom Schneersohn, belonged to the prominent Schneersohn dynasty of Habad hasidic masters and was the uncle of the late New York rebbi of Lubavitz, R. Menahem Mendel Schneersohn (fl. 1902-1994), who was (and remains) the subject of considerable messianic speculation.
