Karen Wenner can look across the Crow River from her Rockford home and see Wright County, which has lower property taxes, closer police protection and a slower lifestyle she prefers. Or she can look the other way and see Hennepin County, with its smoking bans, stadium taxes and traffic jams.
So she hardly hesitated signing a petition that would move her - and about 400 other residents of this western metro suburb - out of Hennepin County and into Wright County. "I just thought it would be better," she said.
