Jul. 24--San Antonio-based Harcourt Assessment, the company behind a slew of achievement and psychological tests, is getting a new leader with a track record for fixing problems and generating growth.
Michael Hansen, a man Harcourt credits with leading "a dramatic turnaround in performance and profitability" at German media giant Bertelsmann AG, is scheduled to start as the company's chief executive Aug. 14.
Harcourt Assessment, which has more than 1,300 employees, is the standardized testing unit of Harcourt Education, a publisher of children's books and textbooks based in Orlando, Fla.
