Jul. 25--A federal regulator has asked Santee Cooper for further study of the environmental impact of its hydropower system on the Marion-Moultrie lakes, giving what environmental advocates say is a little more leverage to their fight to restore flow and fish migration in the Santee River basin.
The company is comfortable with the added requirement, and "there will be really no difference in the information reported," Santee Cooper spokeswoman Laura Varn said.
