Michigan is first state in the nation to build accessible playgrounds at Welcome Centers
LANSING, Mich., July 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The Michigan Department of Transportation, along with Travel Michigan and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation celebrated the opening of two universally accessible play areas at the state's two most-visited Welcome Centers. The centers, located in New Buffalo and Monroe, together welcome nearly three million visitors to Michigan each year.
The Welcome Center play areas, estimated at a cost of $200,000 each, will provide a welcome to visitors unlike any in the nation. Play areas in highway welcome and rest areas are rare. The Michigan ...
