Jul. 26--The Omaha Police Department's eyes in the sky may be quieter, more fuel-efficient and more maneuverable in coming years. Mayor Mike Fahey's budget, proposed Tuesday to the City Council, includes $2.82 million for the purchase of three new police helicopters over the next four years. The new helicopters would replace the city's existing Vietnam-era helicopter fleet. "Our fleet is depreciated completely," Fahey said. "We're running out of parts."
