The lactate, or anaerobic threshold is the point at which lactic acid bonds up faster than the body can clear it many. When this occurs, the working muscle become extremely fatigue, making it almost impossible for you to continue your effort at an elevated intensity. Over time, lactate threshold training teaches your body to function better with lactic acid and process high levels of it more efficiently.
