Q | I've always thought you had really great abs, despite usually being the most massive guy onstage. What is your ab training philosophy?
A | First, let me dispel the midsection myths of cardio, diet and endless reps. Cardio is good for the heart and circulation, and it burns off some bodyfat, but not enough to have a visible effect on the condition of your abdominal muscles. It does not make them harder, more prominent or more deeply separated.
Diet, likewise, is only indirectly related to the abdominal muscles. All food does is cover the abs with a layer of fat if you gain weight or uncover them if you lose weight. If you lose weight without ...
