Jul. 26--There's a lot of energy in the air -- both figuratively and literally.Of course, there's been a lot of nervous energy floating around Odessa and the Permian Basin as the announcement of the shortlist for the site of FutureGen project drew closer.And a good deal of that pent-up energy was released Tuesday morning when Odessa made the "final four" in this billion-dollar endeavor.FutureGen, of course, is to be a near-zero-emissions coal-fired electrical generating plant. And when the Department of Energy narrowed the field to Odessa, the other Texas site near Jewett and two Illinois locations, hopes increased dramatically. ...
