A Hastings man was struck in the head by a dead tree Tuesday morning while cutting down a nearby tree in Mexico, Oswego County sheriff's deputies said.
Andy B. Kilts, 39, of 317 county Route 45, was working alone a few hundred feet off U.S. Route 11 about 10 a.m. when the accident occurred, deputies said.
Kilts was unconscious when deputies arrived, but later regained consciousness. He was airlifted to University Hospital, where he was in good condition Tuesday night.
