Jul. 27--My little cousin has this stuffed animal that prays. Really. You press a button and the thing says the "Lord's Prayer." The first time my uncle showed me this, we looked at each other with grins and I thought, well, I guess the future's just going to be insane. I mean, come on, a praying robot? It raises all kinds of questions. Who is praying the "Lord's Prayer?" Does Jesus now speak through stuffed animals? Does God listen? Should we include the thing in bedtime prayers? Might other appliances in the house pray with us? Perhaps the dishwasher could say "Hallelujahs" and the toilet "Glory Be's"? Is my beloved little cousin going to ...
