Lawmakers in December took a step to strengthen private-property owners' rights. Now, a business coalition hopes to finish the job in November.
A coalition including the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, Michigan Association of Home Builders, Michigan Association of Realtors and National Federation of Independent Business-Michigan has formed to push for a constitutional amendment that would make it more difficult for governments to condemn blighted property.
