Article: EUROPEAN CENTRAL BANK : INTEREST RATES UP AGAIN?

All the signs would lead us to believe that the European Central Bank will once again endorse a further increase in key interest rates on 3 August (for the fourth time since December 2005). Yet another indication that the euro's guardians are intending to pull in the credit reins slightly earlier than expected was the ECB announcement that the meeting of the Governing Council would not be taking place by teleconference (as is customary during the summer break). Instead, the members of the ECB will be physically present at the bank's headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany. And a press conference has already been scheduled for after the meeting.
