City flags will fly at half-mast on Saturday to commemorate the bombing of the World Trade Center. A year ago, on February 26, 1993 at 12:18 p.m., an underground explosion set by terrorists destroyed the underground portion of the World Trade Center garage, the supports of the Vista Hotel, and killed six people while injuring thousands who had to flee the subsequent fire. Three hundred cars were destroyed and 300 windows were broken. All of the building's systems were destroyed.

Today, the scars are mostly emotional, although to date, neither the Windows on the World nor the Vista Hotel has reopened and restoration work on building systems such as air conditioning ...
