Jul. 31--BOSTON -- Curt Schilling's good fortune at Fenway Park came to an abrupt end Sunday night, and the thud was loud. With each extra-base hit by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, the groans from the capacity crowd of 36,048 grew more audible and frequent - particularly after hard shots at the left field wall. Through the first three innings, the Angels had nine hits - and only two were singles. The seven extra-base hits included three home runs in the third, when the Angels took a five-run lead on the way to a 10-4 victory - Schilling's first loss at Fenway Park after eight victories this year.
