Aug. 1--INDEPENDENCE -- The future of the Buchanan County Jail is in the hands of voters. The Board of Supervisors on Monday approved a resolution putting a $4.2 million bond referendum on the November ballot for a new jail and law enforcement center. Even though the measure passed unanimously, some of the county supervisors were uncomfortable with the final product. "I still disagree with the way you've done it," Supervisor Ralph Kremer said.
