Aug. 2--Never again, Cesar Izturis promised.
The Cubs' new shortstop had missed the birth of his son, Cesar Daniel, six years ago while playing in the Venezuelan league and that disappointment took longer to get over than any booted ground ball. No way was he going to miss seeing his daughter, Daniela, born last month.
So when his wife, Liliana, went into the hospital July 16 ready to deliver the baby, Cesar vowed to stay by her side every step of the way.
