Aug. 3--APPLETON, Wis. -- Andy Christensen's plans haven't changed.
Christensen, the La Crosse American Legion baseball team's coach, told his players to pack as if they were staying for the duration of the Class AAA state tournament. That would mean La Crosse would be in Appleton through Sunday and playing for a state title.
That's still Christensen's goal even after La Crosse lost to Oshkosh 5-3 in a first-round game Wednesday at Don Hawkins Field. La Crosse (21-27), which faces Eau Claire at 10 a.m. today, still can advance to the state title game through the losers bracket.
