An Indian surgeon announced he has successfully developed a technique of performing kidney transplants using embryonic stem cells from the female donor that eliminates the possibility of rejection and cuts the costs of the treatment dramatically, according to the Indo-Asian News Service (IANS).
H.A. Trivedi of the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad, India, said the new technique used by his team of surgeons has given new lease on life to 20 patients with kidney failure from India, Nigeria, Kenya and the US.
