Aug. 3--TOKYO -- Komatsu Ltd. and Shin Caterpillar Mitsubishi Ltd. notified the transport ministry Thursday that it was recalling six models of shovel loaders for the second time in 10 months.
The same day, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport issued business improvement orders to both companies, noting their remedy measures in the previous recall, announced in November last year, were insufficient.
Komatsu is recalling a total of 765 shovel loaders in five models made between September 2002 and May this year, and Shin Caterpillar Mitsubishi is recalling 1,459 units of one model made between August 2001 and this March, the two companies ...
