Thursday being St. Patrick's Day, Keith Roberts will dutifully serve green beer at his Fair City Irish pub in Santa Monica, Calif., festoon the place with shamrocks and leprechauns ... you know the drill. And maybe as he does, he'll allow himself just a little chuckle of wry amusement.
``A lot of bars, especially in L.A., call themselves Irish bars,'' Roberts says, but ``there's nothing Irish about them till St. Patrick's Day. Then they totally abuse the day. But ... I've never felt any resentment toward them. When in America, do as the Americans do.''
You don't have to press too hard, though, to get Roberts to concede that the Ireland to which his heart belongs has ...
