Aug. 5--Less than three months have passed since an appeals court, with a sharply worded rebuke, reinstated a lawsuit over a $4.2 million land purchase for a 400,000-square-foot Steinhafels Inc. store, but a partial settlement has been reached in the bitter battle.

The lawsuit contends that the retailer and the couple who sold the land in the City of Pewaukee deliberately delayed the sale to avoid a $294,000 real estate sales commission and the state Court of Appeals recently reinstated it about one year after a judge dismissed it.
