Recent changes in industry economic and regulatory conditions have resulted in pipeline transmission companies finding new ways to lower the cost of transportation. In their effort to become more competitive, many pipeline operators have reorganized their corporate structure through large staff reductions to reduce overhead costs and eliminate non- critical work activities and staff.
Although a leaner structure evolved, the financial benefits have not met expectations for many companies. As a result, they continued the cycle by trying another reorganization.
