Aug. 6--With the start of the new school year in Yuma County just days away, the Yuma Police Department wants to remind residents to be careful and watch out for school children on the roadways and to watch your speed when traveling through school zones.Starting today officers will be out in large numbers in school zones enforcing speed limits and encouraging drivers to obey traffic control devices as part of the 3rd annual Operation Awareness.YPD Spokesman Clint Norred said police want to remind drivers that designated school zones will be in place this week starting with Crane Elementary School District, which starts classes Aug. 7 ...
