Anyone can now view for themselves what William the Conqueror dearly wanted to see, but never did.
The complete Domesday Book, the 920-year-old survey of most of England and bits of modern Wales and Scotland, has gone online, transferred from parchment to pixels.
Some people think it's a novel by Da Vinci Code author Dan Brown and others think it's a chapter in the Bible.
But those in the know recognise the Domesday Book as one of Britain's greatest treasures.
