CASE #1 Amy, an 18-month-old Caucasian, was referred to our orthopedic center by her primary-care physician. The child's parents were concerned about some developmental abnormalities that the girl had recently been exhibiting. Amy began walking when she was 1 year old. Shortly thereafter, her parents noticed that Amy's legs were not of equal length. This was causing her to limp when she walked. There did not appear to be any associated pain.
