Aug. 7--CANTON -- The Canton Police Department has been re-accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.
Three years ago the department went through the same assessments and earned national accreditation. An assessment team from the commission was in Canton April 22 to examine all aspects of the police department's policy and procedures, management, operations and support services. The commission met in July to consider about 75 accreditations, re-accreditations and other requests for recognitions.
