ROCHESTER, Minn., Aug. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The latest in a series of derailments of freight trains run by the Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern Railroad (DM&E) raises yet more doubts about the viability of a record taxpayer-funded loan request by the DM&E. In the latest mishap, on the afternoon of Aug. 3, three locomotives and a DM&E rail car loaded with bentonite left the tracks near Colony, Wyo. In response to these most recent derailments, Rochester City Council President Dennis Hanson, a Rochester Coalition spokesperson, said that DM&E President Kevin Schieffer "has some explaining to do."
