A tiny country between Mexico and Honduras, Belize is the highest per capita importer of U.S. consumer-ready products of any country in Central America. This makes the country a market worth eyeing for future growth.
Two things force the issue for strong imports of U.S. consumer-ready foods: Belize's growing tourist industry and the country's lack of a strong food processing industry.
