Abstract
We report an uncommon case of solitary subungual neurofibroma on the right first finger of a middle-aged healthy woman. Surgical excision was used for the treatment. Common clinical findings, treatment modalities, and reported recurrence rates in previous studies are reviewed.
Introduction
Nail tumors are a common cause of nail plate deformity and are often misdiagnosed as an inflammatory or fungal disease. The clinical appearance of subungual tumors tends to be non-specific and an accurate diagnosis can only be reached after performing an exploratory surgery of the nail apparatus. (1-6)
