Aug. 9--ike a chemist concocting a mysterious elixir, Michele Harris added the first tablespoon of fish sauce to a mix of lime juice, dissolved sugar and spicy chili sauce.
"Who wants to try it?" she asked, with a hint of a dare in her voice.
Disregarding warnings from various co-workers that fish sauce can sometimes resemble the kind of liquid, oh, that you'd expect to find at the bottom of an eel barrel at the end of a long, hot day on the wharf, the Times Leader test cook bravely held out a spoon.
