Aug. 9--SABINE PASS -- Short of breath and covered in sweat, they watched and waited for the end.
Tuesday afternoon at Sabine Pass' football stadium, with a warm afternoon sun hovering above, only one thing stood between the end of the Sharks' first practice and a trip to the showers. It was one player.
He was a lineman, a bigger fella, and he was struggling. All 23 of his teammates had finished the last part of their new conditioning program, which included several trips around the school's new track.
The last player was still out there.
So what did his teammates do? Did they bellyache about the heat? ...
