Aug. 10--NANTICOKE -- Unmarried couples who want their babies baptized can run into resistance. That can depend on the pastor, the couple's willingness to get involved in a church and the denomination.
New mother Felicia Fenner said her family spent weeks contacting pastors from several denominations to find one willing to perform a baptism. She and other family members said several turned them down because she and the infant's father aren't married. "I couldn't believe it," Fenner said.
