FIRST LOS ANGELES Bank said Thomas H. Shaffer had been named president and chief executive officer, subject to regulatory approvals, which are pending.
First Los Angeles, with $1.2 billion in deposits, is owned by Istituto Bancario San Paolo di Torino, in Turin, Italy.
Mr. Shaffer is the former president and chief executive officer of California Republic Bank, Bakersfield, which he joined in 1980 after 10 years with Bank of America.
