Need a spoonful of something sweet and cool but you don't "do" dairy? Not to worry, you can still get your licks in. From sorbets and ices to an array of rice- and soy-based products, ice cream alternatives abound these days. Your local health food store probably offers the widest variety, but even regular supermarkets carry some.
While many ice cream alternatives are nonfat or low-fat, don't assume they all are. A healthy-sounding moniker does not guarantee a lower calorie or lower fat product, as a quick look at our chart, left, shows.
