Article: Sample: Wholesale Up Slightly in 2Q.(Origination News survey of wholesale lending)

WASHINGTON -- Wholesale fundings rose slightly in the second quarter compared to the same period last year, according to preliminary survey figures compiled by Origination News.

Ten wholesale lenders sampled by ON originated $26.56 billion in the quarter, compared to $24.38 billion in same period a year ago, a gain of 9%. (See table.)

Several firms had not reported their second-quarter results as ON went to press this month so the trend results could change dramatically.

It appears that some subprime wholesale lenders - including First Franklin Financial, San Jose, Calif. - suffered as much their conventional counterparts.
