Aug. 11--HARTFORD -- The new Democratic ticket of John DeStefano Jr. and Mary Glassman made their first public appearance yesterday in Simsbury, showing off an unlikely match that could boost DeStefano's chances of unseating Republican Gov. M. Jodi Rell. On Tuesday night, Glassman joined the disappointed supporters of Stamford Mayor Dannel Malloy, who narrowly lost his bid for the Democratic nomination for governor. Glassman, 48, was Malloy's pick for lieutenant governor. But Glassman, a former Simsbury first selectman and chief of staff for the lieutenant governor, was a big winner, beating West Hartford Mayor Scott Slifka by a 57 ...
