Aug. 11--PULASKI -- Up against the weakest offense in the Appalachian League, the Pulaski Blue Jays had every reason to expect they would pitch well Thursday night at Calfee Park.
They couldn't anticipate Johnson City would do the same.
The visiting Cardinals out-performed their league-worst 4.69 ERA, holding Pulaski in check for most of the game and stealing a 4-3 win in 13 innings.
Tied 2-2 after nine innings, the teams exchanged single runs in the 12th before Johnson City pulled ahead again on Thomas Pham's RBI single.
