SITKA, Alaska, Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- HHS Deputy Secretary Alex Azar this week toured Native and non-Native health sites in cities and villages throughout Alaska. He attended the Biannual Meeting of the Alaska Tribal Leadership, the State Health Director, and State Partners and met with local health leaders to discuss health needs for Native communities. After visiting the SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) in Sitka, Alaska, the Deputy Secretary today announced an award of $1.5 million to improve health care for people living in remote parts of Alaska and Washington states.
