As corrections professionals, we work in a highly stressful occupation, but there are some basic strategies we can use to keep the negative effects of stress under control.
One negative effect of stress in corrections is anger--anger at offenders, our loved ones and ourselves. Anger is a "fight" response to stress and is one of the most unhealthy emotions we can experience.
