The Senate formally asked the US Justice Department to deny the petition of former agriculture undersecretary Jocelyn Bolante for asylum in the United States.
Sen. Ramon Magsaysay Jr., in an eight-page petition, said Bolante should be declined protection from prosecution, and not persecution, as his US lawyers contend.
Bolante was tagged by the Senate agriculture committee as the ''grand architect'' of the R728 million fertilizer scam.
In his letter to US Attorney General in Washington DC Alberto R. Gonzales, Magsaysay outlined the multiple raps, including plunder charges, that await Bolante once he is ...
