Aug. 14--A weekend that began with promise ended with disappointment.
The Phillies don't have time to dwell on it. With Cincinnati taking the final two games of its visit to Citizens Bank Park, including Sunday's 7-5, 11-inning win, the Phillies wasted an opportunity to gain ground in the National League wild-card race. They had moved within two games of the Reds when they completed a 14-inning comeback win Friday. The Phillies (56-60) came close to pulling out two more victories Saturday and Sunday, but fell short both times.
